Scott,
Are plasma tvs ok to use as a computer monitor? Or are lcds a better way to go? I prefer the specs on the plasma, but will go lcd if it's better. Also, does screen size matter? I was looking at between a 46" to 50".

They work great, I hooked my PC up to my 42 inch with no problems. We have several in meeting rooms at my work place that serve as monitors for presentations. Great for gaming for sure!
If there are any issues, I am un aware of them

I don't recommend Plasma displays because due to their design they usually look "grainy" and draw lots of power, and they aren't well suited for computer use due to potential problems with burn-in. For computer use you are also concerned with resolution (1920x1080p minimum) and inputs (DVI or HDMI). I've seen some displays that when using HDMI input, the desktop is not centered and partially cut off. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to actually test it. As for the optimal size, that depends mainly on your budget and intended viewing distance. Scott.

I started to say there might be an issue with the resolutions. I have never been sure, but i have some what figured that some video cards may not support the huge resolutions of the large flat screens.

Most TV's have an over scan facility, so with a little play with the settings you might be able to produce a suitable, however I would only recommend this to watch the occasional Movie and possibly game use and not used for Office type tasks. Also look at these type of devices http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/12/08 ... g_p2370hd/
