Toshiba has a "dolby system that can sense volume changes" during adverts and reduce them it works fairly well according to reports, a caller called computer america during doctor raymond soneria`s monthly call chat last show, he had no answer, however, it seems toshiba, have a lcd tv probably also a monitor, that can relieve this, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-32RV753 ... roduct_topkindest regards karl.

I use and skip the adverts (and sometimes other parts like old competitions) completely! Some of these boxes allow you to upgrade the HDD's I think some Sky+ HD Boxes allow a 1.5TB drive

I'd love to have a PC based DVR, but, we use DirecTv, and I don't believe they make any PC cards that are capable for DirecTv.
Speaking of loud adverts, DirecTv is one of the worst. I'd love to lock all of the advert exec's in a large theater, and do an all day presentation, wait until after lunch, about 2PM when everyone is falling asleep, and then, play one of their commercials, and BLAST all of them out of their seats like they do their customers at home.
It's pitiful! And, it's even worse when you call customer service. Here you are, phone up to your ear, listening to this elevator music, and then all of the sudden, you go deaf with a DTV commerical on the phone!!!
Okay, sorry if that was off topic, but, I was talking about Home Theater PC's......
