I have a HP Photosmart 7450 Series printer.
I'm using windows XP.
I have purchased a tri - color ph 6657a (57) cartridge two days ago, When I installed the new ink cartridge I keep getting the error message below:
print cartridge has failed.
the color print cartridge (#57) has failed. please replace it or remove it to print using ink backup printingmodes.
my HP Photosmart 7450 Series printer is two years old. I would be grateful for advice for some help.

What is the Print cartridge cradle and the cradle path?
where is the Print cartridge cradle and the cradle path located?
Thank you for any advice you are able to give me!

There's not much I can say except to replace the cartridge or the printer. I despise printers in general and ink-jet printers are the worst, I won't use them myself. I'd recommend getting a color laser instead. Scott.

I would have to 2nd Scott's recommendation on this matter.
Right now, you can get a very good home use Color Laser printer for about $125 that will serve the needs of the average home user very well.
My Color Laser uses 4 toners, they rarely all go out at the same time, (once I think). I usually get well over 1 year of use out of a set of cartridges. Generally, you are going to get 2000 pages out of a color cartridge. (Try that with an Inkjet).
Try not printing anything for a month and see how well your Inkjet likes you. Your Color Laser doesn't give a rip. They dry powder doesn't care. It works as well sitting for a month unused as it does being used every day.
Given the number of pages you will get and the length of time the cartridge lasts, the supplies cost is very low for most home use Color Laser units as opposed to the cheap Ink Jets.
