Scott I believe my mouse is ready to be put down for good. It's a good five years old. The left side button is registering double clicks. I've used compressed air on it, took it apart even following a step by step diagram online. Are there any particular brands you recommend?. I think I might just get a cheaper one this time.

Well I was actually just looking around my apartment and found a Logitech M600 and a Logitech M570 wireless trackball. Never used either one, my dad got rid of them when he switched to Mac a few years back. I just haven't used them since he gave them to me. I'm trying the touch mouse out first.

Hi, not Scott here. As far as interchangeable receivers I only know for sure that the Logitech Unifying Receiver fits that description. As far as the Performance MX mouse...I can't say for everyday use. I personally use a Logitech Anywhere MX mouse (the ambidextrious little brother) and enjoy mine. It tracks great on anything and has great battery life with a reliable on/off slider. It isn't rechargeable like it's big brother but it's also half the price and I think I've had the same batteries in for a year...

Evan

As Evan indicated receivers may be interchangeable within a certain manufacturer's products, but the only ones that are truly universal would be Bluetooth transceivers and Bluetooth mice. Scott.
