Hi Scott
How are you, hope everything is going ok over there.
Could you please help me on the following.
Just build a new pc, everything but the Hdd is not read by bios and the pc bootsup only to bios averytime I do turn it on. My PC specsa are as follow. CPUI780633I741K= Intel BX80633I7 Quad Core I7-4820K 3.7 Ghz 10 MB LGA 2011 Asus Sabertooth-x79 Chipse LGA 2011pin 8x DDR3 x PCI-E Motherboard Corsair Vengeance 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3-1600 Samsung 840 pro Series 256GB Stata III SSD Asus GTX760-DC20C-2GD5 2GB GTX760 PCI -E VGA card x 2 Corsair HX850V2 ATX PS Thermaltake VN300M1W2N Chaser Mk-I Full tower Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 LGA2011 PWM CPU Cooler LG DVD RW Sata HDDWD1S3BK1000 WD 3.5" Black 1TB 7200rpm HDD.
all component has been re-checked to make sure all connectors are ok and properly installed.
First time I boot up was ok and able to install windows 7 but after that everytime I boot up it goes to BIOS and not to OS.
I don't have another pc to test the HDD 1tb harddrive, the only one the motherboard can read is the SSD.
I hope this is enough to help me out or to guide me on the right way.
Regards Iggy

Try connecting the cable to a different motherboard port. If that doesn't help then try replacing the cable. Next try a known-good spare HDD. If the different port and cable don't help but the known-good HDD works, then most likely your original drive has failed. In this type of case I normally order a new one, then return the defective one under warranty. That way you'll end up with an extra spare drive for backups. Let me know what you find, Scott.

The system will automatically boot to the BIOS Setup if no other boot device is detected. Scott.

So, Win7 is on the HDD and not the SSD?
Does the BIOS see the SSD?
Remove whichever drive the OS is not on. Does the BIOS now see the boot drive?
I trust the coin CR2032 battery is fully seated and at least 3V and not upside down?
It is usually good practice--though not necessary--to install an OS into a system with only a single (target boot) drive and install the other drives later. Avoids confusing things.
If the BIOS sees the SSD and not the HDD = Defective HDD, data cable, power cable/source or SATA port. Since it worked and now it doesn't I'm concerned.
Hopefully HDD installed on a 3Gbps port (or at least not same controller as SSD) and SSD installed on native 6Gbps port, if present. Again, not necessary but IMHO good practice.

Hi Scott
I was able to fix one issue, regarding your last post the BIOS does detect the SSD, all cables are connected properly as well the batteries.
I was able to fig out the problem with the hard disk, it need it to be formated!! after I log to Bios I was a ble to format the HDD and now works ok and is detected by BIOS.
The OS is on the SSD, but still log in to BIOS first, once I'm into Bios I'm able to click and start on the OS, PC in general works very well and is very fast as well the speed is where is should be and also teh BIOS reads and use all the memory, god save 64 bit, I will do a BIOS Update and let you know.
Regards Iggy
