Scott, is there equipment available to test a supposedly defective DisplayPort connector?

There is, but it is very expensive and geared towards those developing and engineering DisplayPort compliant devices. The only DisplayPort test equipment I use is a "known-good" monitor with a DisplayPort connection. Scott.
