Windows - Drive Not Ready error message

Working on a Dell Dimsion 4600 and keep getting the "Windows - Drive Not Ready" error message. Tried removing the floppy drive in Device Manager since one isn't installed which did remove the message but Windows keeps re-installing it and the message comes back. How do I fix this in XP?

I would check the floppy data and power cables/connections. If they are good then most likely the drive is defective. In that case I'd disconnect it and/or disable the floppy controller on the motherboard via the BIOS Setup. Scott.
