Hey Scott I purchased a new Usb stick on clearance over at Office Depot. Anyway it was formatted with exFat. If I wanted to make it bootable as a "rescue disk", will Windows 7 and newer boot from exFat?. Last I knew most USB sticks were formatted with FAT32 by default. Guess I have not kept up with technology.

The existing format doesn't matter, you will reformat the drive as NTFS when making it bootable. I recommend using Rufus for creating bootable flash drives. Scott.
