I have my newest windows 10 pc connected to a cyberpower UPS. Whenever I restart or start the pc the battery icon shows that the battery is not charged or very low. Then I get a notification pop up of windows 10 telling me to plug in the pc because the battery is very low. Then about 30 seconds to 1 minute later the notification goes away and the battery icon in the system tray shows up as fully charged. I installed their software after this just to check on the health of this 1 year old UPS and everything is fine with it. Uninstalled it because it's a waste of time and not worth the trouble. How can I get Windows 10 to correctly identify that the battery is fully charged at boot up?.

I would contact Cyberpower about this. Let me know what you find, Scott.

I will but I believe this is a Windows 10 problem and has little to nothing to do with Cyberpower.

Just talked with tech support and they told me that it's windows problem. Also told me that "these products are meant to be used for people that leave their computers on 24/7". So in other words it's not really a problem if you leave your computer on 24/7 and they are not going to change anything. With the Cyberpower software they have a problem where the UPS loses communication with the pc and then it comes back about 30 seconds later when booting. Same thing though, they aren't going to change it they said because it doesn't interfere with the main function of the UPS and the products are meant for people that leave their PCS on 24/7 anyway.
So I don't know, I think that sounds like a cop out to me. Maybe in the future Microsoft will fix this problem.
Actually he told me to just remove the usb cable.

So I don't know what to do to fix this. It's pretty annoying. My wife doesn't seem to have the same problem but she has a different brand ups.

Maybe I should purchase a replacement battery pack?. Cyberpower blamed it on Windows but I don't know about that. Wife has a different brand UPS, but the same OS and doesn't have the same problem. So they are both listed as "HID UPS battery" in the device manger, on my pc and hers.

If it was a windows problem, I should have have the exact same problem on my wifes pc, but I do not. The only thing I can think of is the batteries are going bad and that's why this is happening.

Ok Scott. I tried unplugging the ups, turning it on and off, plugging it back in. Then I unplugged the pc from the UPS, turned the rocker switch on the psu on and off. Then I turned the pc back on and it detected the battery level normally.
Now I'll try restarting to see if it still works.
What do you think is wrong here Scott?. Could it be a power supply problem?. Or do you think I'm correct thinking that the UPS battery may be going bad?.

Ok I got the problem to go away again by unplugging and replugging in the UPS and turning the UPS on and off.

Well I've gone threw several power cycles and there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to this.

Scott, I also emailed support and they tell me that it does indeed sound like a battery problem and they are shipping me out a replacement battery. I will let you know if it fixes the problem.

Well I have the new battery installed and it still has the same problem. Every time I start Windows it detects the battery as not being charged at all, gives me a warning, "You're battery is very low" and dims the screen. About 30 seconds to 1 minute later the battery charge is detected normally and the warning goes away.

Scott, these steps I've taken do indeed prove that the problem is hardware and is the Cyberpower UPS. Wouldn't you agree to that?

Scott, they have agreed to replace the UPS. I have nothing to use while I ship it back in though. So I may just purchase another one for the time being, and then I can use either one for my other electronics, like tv, cable box.

I have purchased a new APC UPS very similar to my wifes that I used in the functionality testing and diagnosis. So now when I get that one I can ship the old Cyberpower back and get a replacement for it.
