My friend Jay has an HP with an AMD Turion X2 dual core with mobile
technology running at 1.8 GHz, and for some reason the CPU usage is at 100%
contently, not to mention it takes like five minutes for the system to boot
up from a cold boot, I had him perform virus, ad ware and spy ware scan,
and nothing was found, any idea what could be causing this?

Sounds like a malware problem. Try Ad-Aware SE Personal
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-awa ... rsonal.php and Spybot Search
& Destroy http://www.spybot.info .

If those don't help then run HijackThis
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/prog ... hijackthis and submit the
log to the SpywareInfo forum for analysis: http://tinyurl.com/2rvghj

Let me know what the problem turns out to be.

Scott.

That a good point there Scott. Friend next door had 30 odd virus and mealwarms. http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/ help quite a bit. They also use the hijackthis. They sent a logs of the ones to delete. Then re run hijackthis so they can recheck it.
