Hi Scott,

What is the smallest netbook with an internal CD or DVD drive under 12"?

It is a ThinkPad, which means it has a TrackPoint as well as many other special features. Scott.

These Lenova`s are awesome. You have sold me on them Scott over these last few months. I love thier dull plane look. My next laptop will be a Lenavo.

I get calls from people who have been sold Netbooks by big retail stores and after salesman has got his Norton Commission has forgotten to include a USB ODD in the deal...

But! sometimes this means they have not opened the wrapper of the "Security Disc" and are entitled to refund Ha!

The other day someone bought a HSDPA modem and contract and I just added it to the their wireless network (after WPA2 of course). Customer didn't need the HSDPA stick so I assume they are up selling HSDPA at retail too.

I love the trackpoint on my old Thinkpad. They hold their retail value very well also. Mine's a Pentium III and avarage used price on the net is about $650.00

Most of our local hospitals are using them exclusively because they are built so well.

I have been debating getting a netbook for onsite tech calls, but I feel like I would be hindered due to their lack of performance. I think the extra bulk of my laptop is worth it when it comes to having computing power. I could be wrong, but when I read that a net book want even play an HD video that pretty much let me know what I would be working with.

The Nividia ION Chipset ones will, but yeah stick to a Laptop, much faster for onsite scans etc

Kit, if you are thinking about getting a netbook, consider borrowing one from a friend for a couple weeks. I know they're cute but believe me, those tiny screens get irritating real fast. The micro keyboards don't help the ownership experience either. I saw a report that big box retailers were experiencing a 60% return on them at one time.
