I am just trying to find out the pros and cons of hard drives.

Here my hard drive right now a seagate 250gb 8mb cache 5,400 rpm laptop hard drive. Other then losing 50gb changing to a 200gb with 16mb cache at 7,200 rpm.

How will the 200gb hard drive help me in speed and How much will I lose or gain in battery life.

Right now I have a Core 2 2.33 ghz with 2gb of ram and 250gb hard disk and geforce go 7600. With Dual boot Windows Xp Pro and windows Vista buisness.

The 7200 rpm drive should be significantly faster, and may or may not draw more power than the 5400 rpm drive. I always recommend downloading the factory tech manuals, which will have detailed transfer rate and power consumption specs, that way you can more accurately compare the two drives. Let me know what you find out. Scott.
