Hi Scott,
Someone gave me an old Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M7400 laptop. I think it was manufactured around 2004. Anyway, I'd like advice about upgrading the hard drive. The stock drive is a 40GB IDE unit. Would there be any problems fitting a larger drive? I'm thinking specifically about BIOS limits that some of these older laptops might have.

The only limit you might encounter is at 137GB. If the BIOS has 48-bit LBA support (found in most systems dating from Sept. 2002 or later), then you should be able to install any current drive. Let me know how the story ends... Scott.

I don't intend to buy a bigger drive than 120GB, so this should be ok. I'll update you when I buy it. Thanks
