 Post subject: my dell inspiron 1525 no bootable devices error

Scott,
I have a Dell Ispiron 1525 laptop and i'm getting at startup error message no bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility press F5 to run onboard diagnostics.

and when i run onboard diagnostics and Pre-boot system assessment complete. No diagnostic utility parition identified. Please select ok to reboot your system coming up.

Without the service tag or a direct link to the system specs I can't be more specific, but it sounds like either the existing OS is corrupted or the hard drive has failed. What happens when you replace the drive with a known-good spare and/or reload the OS from scratch? Scott.

i donot have a know-good spare harddrive but when I reload the OS from scratch, I'm getting error setup didnot find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. setup cannot continnue to quit setup, press F3
