The existing card supports 802.11b only. Unfortunately I don't believe there are any internal bgn or abgn cards that will work in that system. You could use a Cardbus bgn adapter
, but in my opinion the results (i.e. having n over g) would not be worth the expense or having a bulky card sticking out the side. Instead I would recommend upgrading to an internal abg card
, which would be a worthwhile, cost effective, and virtually transparent upgrade over the card you have now. Note that you will need to use a card approved for the T40, else you will receive an 1802 error on boot
, and the system will be disabled. I believe the Atheros based cards should be supported by Ubuntu, but you would want to confirm that before committing. Scott.
