Have an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop I'm working on and the system will power on and boot to the desktop, however keyboard and touchpad are not responsive. Plugged in a USB keyboard and mouse and that didn't work either. Otherwise, laptop runs great. Anyone have a solution? Thanks.

Always remember to post links to the mfr. support page and/or documentation for the system. Without those links it is much more difficult to provide answers specific to your system.

Does the keyboard work in the BIOS Setup? If so, that would mean that the problem is most likely software instead of hardware based. In that case, does the keyboard and/or mouse work when you boot the system with another OS? You could boot from a Linux livecd (such as Ubuntu) or from a diagnostic disc such as the Ultimate Boot CD, or (preferably) the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. Scott.
