Got a newer USB wifi adapter or dongle and wanted to find the driver for it. The device info in Device Manager is USB\VID_148/PID_2070\6&1260A5BF&0&2. How do I find the make and model from that? Thanks.

You'll find a detailed answer to that question in my article here: Becoming an expert device and driver Detective

Let me know what device/chipset that turns out to be, and where you find the drivers. Scott.

I've used this article before to find the driver using the VEN and DEV numbers. This dongle uses a VID and PID number though. Using Google doesn't seem to work with that.

BTW, how do I find my past posts in this forum, just using my login name. When I try "username" or "*username", I get nothing. I have to try and remember the subject title. Thanks.

It does if you use the correct numbers to begin with. <g> Since VIDs are 4 digits I suspect that the actual VID in question is 148F (and not just 148 as you posted). Combined with a PID of 2070, according to the usb.ids database posted by the USB ID Repository that points to a Ralink Technology RT2070 device, for which you can find the drivers on the Ralink site here.
