Scott, Hi

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VGN-FZ21S

I have this customer's European Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21SR, p/n PCG-394P
Display is on, but no backlight. I order a replacement LCD panel .I received a AU Optronics p/n B154EW01 ,H/W:0A , F/W:1 , Backlight type: CCFL 1-Bulb .
The original LCD panel /inverter takes CCFL 2-Bulbs . The original screen is p/n Samsung LTN-154XB-L01
Do you know if A 1-bulb CCFL LCD screen p/n will work with the inverter that
accommodates two CCFL bulbs?
Would it hurt the inverter or the LCD panel if I plugged the CCFL cable on the new LCD panel into the inverter?
Thanks

All good questions, unfortunately I don't have any definitive answers. I believe that the inverter is designed for a specific "load", however 1 larger bulb may equal that of 2 smaller ones. Bottom line is I'd say it's a bit of a gamble. The good thing is that worst case you might damage the inverter, and those are relatively cheap. If this LCD is designated as an equivelant replacement, I would think that means it should work with the existing inverter. Let me know what happens. Scott.
