Scott,

I am having issues putting my t61 laptop back together. Do you use anything to measure the right tp screws, any particular metric caliper? Does the red nylon thread and the blue nylon thread signify anything? Thanks.

When measuring I use a vernier caliper that is probably 75 years old, handed down to me by my grandfather. With it I can measure precisely to the 10th of a millimeter, and estimate down to the hundreth. Modern ones usually have digital readouts.

The colored material is a threadlocker that is used to prevent the screws from accidentally loosening. Blue is for normal useage, Red is more permanent. Scott.
