This is the unit in question:http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/ ... 12/drivers
I'll probably end up returning this for a new unit, as this was an open box, probably store display unit. It appears to be in awesome shape, but, not everything is perfect, so I am trying to do a re-image just to get things back to factory.
In trying to do so, it attempts to begin, and gives an error message stating "Some files are missing, please insert your factory restore media."
Well, like most systems, this didn't come with factory restore media. I did a Right-Click, Manage on This PC, and there is a 350 MB partition at the beginning of the hard drive which I assume must be the recovery partition.
Recovery from Windows 8.1 is what gives the error. F8 during boot does not work. Holding down Shift, selecting Restart and trying to recover gives the same "missing files" error.
I don't know of any other way to boot the recovery to start this PC over.
Any help here other than returning it for a brand new one?
Thanks in advance.
