Hello,

I have just performed a built-in factory restore on this Toshiba laptop.

The built-in LAN is not working at all. It does not show up in the Devices list, and there are not any Yellow Exclamation Points in Device Manager.

The only Network Devices is the Wireless LAN.

I have went to the manufacturers page and tried to load drivers, and have run Windows Updates which showed a couple of LAN updates, but, still, no Wired LAN connection is showing up.

If I do a WINIPCFG/ALL only the Wireless LAN shows up, and a Tunnel Adapter isatap. Nothing about the Wired LAN.

Canot figure this one out at all. I'm using a "Known Good Network Connection" because it functions on other laptop/desktop computers, just not this one.

Above is the support page for this computer.

Thanks in advance.

Make sure the wired LAN device is turned on in the BIOS Setup. If it is and it still isn't recognized then it may be defective. In that case you can install a wired LAN card or rely on the wireless connection instead. Let me know what you find out, Scott.

Thanks once again Scott!

The BIOS never came to my mind.

A friend brought the laptop for me to look at, it would not boot, was giving an error, they were not interested in saving anything, so I just ran Factory Recovery.

It still isn't running like I would like it to. It's a bit sluggish. I'll see how it is after Windows Updates are done.

But, now the internal LAN is working! <G>

I'm glad the LAN is working, thanks for the follow-up report. Scott.
