How would I test a cpu fan in a laptop computer to see if it is working at all.

Is there any cpu fan tester device out there to do that.

I have found one way that I found to test cpu with a usb cable.

I striped the wires and then put the red to red and black to black wires and then plug it in and the cpu fan ran.

but there got to be a some kind of a device out there to test cpu fans if they are bad or not.

there is another way I found to is using a 9volt battery and plug in the red and black wires into the cup fan and that would work to.

I guess I just go bored this weekend.....

To test fans I connect them to a power source of the proper voltage and see if they spin smoothly without any noise from the bearings. Scott.

I normally use a standard ATX power supply (known-good spare) that I have sitting on my workbench, but in some cases I've also used batteries. Scott.
