Hi Scott,
Just wondering what your thoughts were on the new Eee PC from Asus. I read a number of glowing reviews of it, both in magazines and from consumers. Asus look like they've found a niche in the market for supplying cheap laptops for those that just need to use one for surfing or using a word processor. Having notice you comments on turbo memory, I wonder what you think of the solid state storage.

I'm very impressed with the EeePC. The Asus EeePC http://eeepc.asus.com is a new member in what is called the Ultra-Mobile PC class, including systems like those from OQO: http://www.oqo.com

These systems are getting better and more powerful all the time, and are perfect for those who need an ultra-small laptop. The main drawbacks of course are the limited screen size and resolution and cramped keyboards, but for those needing more computing power and Windows compatibility than can be found in a typical PDA/smartphone and who don't want or need a full-sized laptop, these are an excellent alternative. Scott.
