For laptops that use fluorescent light for back lighting the LCD screen (pretty near all of them) they use some sort of shutter to adjust the brightness don't they? I mean they do not dial down or up the intensity of the light, so there would be zero battery or bulb savings in keeping your back light dialed down. Am I correct?
And does the light actually turn off if you set the monitor to go off in the power settings after a certain period of inactivity, or does the shutter just close completely?
Thank you for the education.
