 Post subject: Excluding options during virus scans.

Scott. I use Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes for my anti-virus protection. My question is:

What are your recommendations for folder, file, and file extensions excluded during scans? To be more specific, is it safe to exclude Program Files, ProgramData, or the Users folders when scanning?

The only exclusions I would ever set are for programs that I install on my systems that are detected as false positives (e.g. several of the Nirsoft utilities and the Angry IP Scanner). I wouldn't recommend setting any exclusions other than for programs like that. Scott.
