Since I generally don't consider IE6 or earlier as "safe", my answer would be: Not very. <g> Scott.

Have you tried running System File Checker (use "sfc" at a command prompt) or re-registering your .dll files using "regsvr32" at a command prompt?

If you explore those be sure to use a " /?" after each command to check it's options.

Like this:
sfc /?
regsvr32 /?

yes I have check for malware viruses spyware and for yahoo viruses microsoft malware etc. I ran the online house call and the AVG virus software I also ran AVG virus software in safe mode as well. all came up clean.

I'm not the only person that is having this IE crash by adobe flash player.

I do have the newest adobe flash player and shockwave now I wish I had not download and install it.

I don't know if Microsoft is trying to be cute and change something that adobe flash player don't like or the other way around.
The only time it crash is when i'm using the yahoo messenger for the web not the one you download and install on your computer.

everything was working fine before I did the update to adobe flash player and shockwave player. I'm thinking there is some kind of a bug in IE7 and IE8 one of the updates is the cause or adobe has bugs in it that they don't want to fix for some reason. and the yahoo messenger for the web only uses adobe flash player only. so I can't use another flash player.

I'm gong to try what you two people said to try out and if that don't work then i'm going ahead and uninstall it and then reinstall it. Now I wonder how should I uninstall IE7 Should I do what I said above or should I uninstall the sp3 and then reinstall sp3 for winodws xp hmmmm.
I also read that there is going to be a sp4 for windows xp and for windows vista sp3 or did i read that wrong.
well any who......
