Hi everyone,

When you try to disconnect a USB Hard drive or thumb drive and you get the message

Windows can't stop your 'Generic volume' device because a program is still using it ...

Does anyone know of a way to find out which program is using it? This drives me mad sometimes!

You could use Sysinternals DiskMon, but as long as you have the write caching turned off you could just disregard the message and unplug it anyway. Scott.
