I hope this isn't too off-topic, Scott, but I'm having problems with that ImgBurn software you recommended. I've tried to test-write a .cue file onto a CD-R (I didn't write for real because I didn't want to create a coaster), but the operation failed. Here's output from the log:

You are correct in that this is off topic for the forum here. All I would suggest is to try a different file, disc, and/or drive. If that doesn't help, take this up on the ImgBurn forum, and let me know what you find out in the end. I'll leave this topic open so you can post the results. Scott.

I did use ImgBurn to successfully burn an .iso file onto a CD-R disc.

I was thinking linky after you had posted your question on there and (hopefully) had gotten a couple of answers :)

Scott, I've managed to successfully burn three .cue files onto CD-R discs using ImgBurn. Apparently the software's "Test Mode" has "issues."

It looks like the "issues" might be with your drive. What happens when you use a different drive? Scott.

You might actually have two bad drives there, optical drives are one of the least reliable components in a PC (next to power supplies).

Quote:
I 19:50:37 -> Drive 1 - Info: SAMSUNG CDRW/DVD SM-352B T806 (D:) (ATA)

That drive needs a firmware update (there are 3 newer versions than what is currently installed in the drive), which may or may not correct the problem. I didn't see any further updates for your TS-H653N drive, but you said you've "had problems with" it anyway. If a firmware update doesn't fix the problem with the SM-352B then you might want to try another (preferably "known-good") drive. Scott.

That LIGHTNING UK! guy on the ImgBurn forumsays in that one thread that "Test Mode" is "pretty much a waste of time." Check the thread.

He's actually the author of the program, and he said that:

    "...you can't (always? - depends on the drive?) do 'test mode' on a multisession disc, it doesn't work (but obviously I don't block you from attempting to do it)."

So yes, in your case, because of the type of write you are attempting, it seems that doing a "test mode" write instead of the real thing (especially if the real thing works) seems to be wasting everybody's time. <g> Scott.
