Installed a HP Photosmart C4680 - September 2011) but IMO the PC has slowed since then; There was also an HP Installation Error – XP)

Currently, it is not printing at all: Hit “print” and nothing – no error message etc. It copies though.
(This occurred right after dealing with a “Paper Jam” (which was not evident))

I tested the printer on another PC and it works fine.

So I should reinstall the HP software?

1. Which better in general?
Add/Remove Programs
Or
The software’s own uninstall option?

2. To ensure all of the HP S/W is gone, is uninstalling again in safe mode a good idea?
Also for other programs – Is safe mode more thorough?

3. Reinstalling the HP software: Since it had an “accident” during original install, should I install it under safe mode?
(Also for other programs)

Many Thanks!

Yes.

Those are two different ways of executing the exact same functions. In other words, it doesn't make a difference which method you choose since they will do the exact same things.

I recommend uninstalling the software normally. If you have a problem uninstalling, then I recommend using the Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter.

It is best to install programs with the system booted normally and logged in to a user account with adminstrative privileges. Scott.

Reason I ask: I heard when installing a program it's best to have Windows restart the PC vs. the program....
So I thought using add/remove is better because it is the OS vs. the program uninstalling....
