A few of my hard drives all have a folder with two names. An icon has the name HP_PC. After I double-click on it, however, its name in the address line is HP_CD. IIRC, this situation resulted from a Robocopy job involving Windows Vista that I didn't do quite right. How do I make the name in the initial icon apply to the address line all across the board? Keep in mind that I have observing this situation in Windows XP.

It sounds like there may be some damage or anomalies in the file system. I would recommend opening a command prompt, then type the "CHKDSK /F" command and hit enter. This should repair the file system. If that doesn't help then try directly renaming the folders in question. Scott.

The "CHKDSK /F" command didn't solve the problem. I just changed the name in the initial icon so it will be consistent with the rest of the system. BTW, when I started this thread, it was only one hard drive that had the "HP_PC" thing. I regret my initial error.

It's my understanding that "HP_CD" should have been the correct folder name all along.
