 Post subject: Windows 7 Pro 64bit Extra HID Keyboard Device

For some reason in device manage I have two HID Keyboard Devices listed. I delete one and it just re-installs on reboot.

That is normal, one is the keyboard and the other is the mouse. Scott.

I don't understand then because the mouse is listed under "Mice and other pointing devices" as "HID-compliant mouse".

USB keyboards and mice will have drivers in two places, one is essentially for the device itself, the other is for the USB interface on the device. Scott.

Oh ok. Thanks a lot Scott!. I really have not studied this stuff much if at all in the past few years. Hey, by the way, any new books being released soon?
