Scott, do you think the Mozilla Maintenance Service is necessary if one is using Mozilla Firefox, or can one safely uninstall the Service without any serious consequences?

Firefox and Thunderbird install an optional service called the Mozilla Maintenance Service. This service allows application updates to occur in the background, without requiring you to click Yes in the Windows User Account Control (UAC) dialog.

So that what is does Scott !

Is it a virus or not?

How would you uninstall it or how do you know it been install?

Do you have it install and enable on your computer Scott.
and do you let it run on your computers?

here is the link if you want to disable it or uninstall it if you like to.

Scott why would you want this install and enable / or have it uninstall and disable for

SPIDERMAN!

That sounds like a good service to me, especially since I recommend keeping Firefox and Thunderbird up-to-date. Scott.
