Ever so often I get a window popup and telling me my adobe flash player is out of date is this a virus in Mozilla Firefox I do not have adobe flash player install on my computer and i will never install it. So what should i do about this.

I have scan for malware viruses adware it comes up clean.....

I have a firewall up and antivirus and online security that should of block it. My antivirus is vipre internet security.

I ran a deep clean and it comes up as clean.

and I don't like to install software that i don't use.
or that will cause problems down the road.

Are you *sure* you don't have the Adobe Shockwave Flash Plugin installed? If not I'd uninstall and reinstall Firefox. If that doesn't help then I would contact Adobe for assistance. In that case let me know what they tell you. Scott.

I don't have adobe shockwave flash player the only thing I have install from adobe is the adobe air.

The next time that window pops up i'll snip it and post it so that you can have a look at it and I wish would of thought of that when it came up. Just does it at random.

It appears you may have some malware on that system: https://www.google.com/search?q=fake+flash+player

Let me know what the problem and solution turns out to be. Scott.

To add to Scott's comment, I've also seen these fake Adobe update pages be opened by (usually advert heavy) web sites.

Unless no browsers were already open, I'd see what the web site was you were just visiting prior to the Adobe page appearing. (And avoid it in future!)

The two website i was on when this came up was www.yahoo.com and www.okcupid.com but I been using these sites for years and never had anything like this come up.

On yahoo I was reading something and then it pop up for no reason at all. and www.okcupid.com it only did it once so far. I mean it don't do it all the time just and stupid times just at randoms. I talk to vipre internet security and they don't know anything about it. I can't find the same thing on www.google.com about it. these fake sites are starting to piss me off. more so then Microsoft with their stupid windows 10.

I don't see anything in mozzila firefox or on my computer that looks like malware. and I also update the Vipre antivirus internet security to 2016 that is the new one and I did a full scan and it came up clean so I'm not sure what else to do. I know one thing I could do but i'm not ready to do it just yet is to do a reset of mozzila firefox or uninstall it and reinstall it. These people with fake webiste should have there arms cut off and for those that write stupid malware virus adware randsome ware should also be caught and go to jail and get there arms chop off into little bits and get there balls cut off if they are males and if female get there rack cut off too. I'm just sick of this BS.

I'm with Apple with their security on the Iphones and i hope they also do that with there mac o/s as well keep the FBI out of our iphones and cell phones non of their business.

as far as black hat hackers go will they should be taken out back of the jail and line up against the wall and will get the picture.

The google search link in my previous post turns up many links with suggestions of what to do. I'm curious to know what the problem/solution turns out to be. Scott.

I have talk with the Viper techs and they told me this. That some websites like adobe fake websites could just be ads to look like they are download malware or trying to download adobe flash player on to the computer.

I do have another thing that is bugging me right now. Is there chat with support not working right once i get that restore then I think i'm good to go. i didn't have to uninstall and reinstall Mozilla Firefox or refresh it. Everything came up like it should.

Now I have install the Viper internet security 2016 it does scan and block any unwanted software from being download form a fake website.

so for right now i'm going to let it go the worst it can do is for me to reinstall windows.
which can be a pain in the butt and then doing all the windows updated again. I also think I have the virus thing enable in this T420 thinkpad bios.

i know this not the write place to talk about hard drives and the new 72 core cpu.
they have just came out with a 8tb hard drive and later this year they are coming out with a new 72 core cpu. i think quad core.

I got everything seems to be working now. I didn't have malware on my computer and I got the vipre internet security 2016 chat with support it was due to that I had the 3rd party cookies block so now it working if I just remember to re enable the 3rd party cookies.

take care
