SORRY:
DELL XPS 8910
S.T: 1X1RSD2
ESC: 4175142230

I think MS can stop overexerting itself on anti-piracy IMO win10 has its own innate protection which is Windows 10
Now they can put the VAST amount of HOURS they devote (and asked from me and dell) if you lose a password and instead apply these hours and days into fighting cyber crime!

PROBLEMS:
1. New DOCUMENT (All there is, is "new folder").

2. Cannot pin DRIVE C:\ onto task bar -> the only options are to quick access (which I have not found <useful>) or to start where I cannot find it!

3. From another H/W post:
"WINDOWS 10 trying to copy files etc. from a windows XP PC .."
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3216
When trying to delete files I receive "filename is too big for recycle bin"
Then it does something I guess permanently loses the file somewhere.

At this point I am getting convinced there is something wrong with my PC and or Dell loaded a corrupt copy?

Or is this normal?
Thank you

I do not have a windows 7 OS source.

The XPS does not come with a win 10 CD nor can I get 1.

Dell said if anything <else> goes wrong the PC has everything on a drive etc.... (no answer if there was a H/W issue).

With the above I don't know if installing a different OS is possible?

Thank you!

Dell Windows 7 restore discs are consistently available on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/201696329243
http://www.ebay.com/itm/351921563222
http://www.ebay.com/itm/192045903226

Note that they include a useless/unnecessary piece of hardware strictly to satisfy MS requirements for selling OEM versions of Windows only with hardware. In this case the hardware is basically garbage (it may not even work) and is intended to be discarded.

I can't make any guarantees but I do believe these discs will install on your Dell and recognize the SLP (System Locked Pre-installation) 2.1 table in the BIOS, which will cause these copies of Windows 7 to be fully activated. Note also that no product key is required as these discs automatically provide the correct Dell OEM key. Scott.
