I need some utilities - (file Name shortener, and a path_name shortener
?possibly a data recovery program).

Not sure what's currently recommended.

Any suggestions for a path-name / file-name shortener (truncator)
and
POSSIBLY a data recovery utility for the "intelligence- impaired / challenged" user would be appreciated!

Despite "you get what you pay for", I'd still prefer not paying.

For renaming files I recommend Ant Renamer: http://www.antp.be/software/renamer

For an easy to use deleted file recovery program I recommend Recuva: http://www.piriform.com/recuva

Other than that you might try the other programs I recommended in my data recovery tools post. Let me know what works for you, Scott.

Couldn't understand how 2 use the file re-namer & didn't try the data recovery program.
