I have an hold hp computer and try to install a SSD into it as the main drive and I can't find an update bios for it so I can enable the AHCI mode and how do you go about enable the trim command in windows vista I forgot that laptop computer has windows vista home sp2 install.
I am never going to put that computer on the internet.
anyways
the hardware information is below
HP pavilion dv6000 system board ID 30BB cpu T4240 2gb of DDR2 ram windows vista home sp2 S/N CNF7251F4Q BIOS VERSION F.25
and the new SSD was going to be a PNY 240GB hard drive. after format it comes out about 211gb of free hard drive space.
but that drive had some issues so I am going to take it back and get a replacement. comes with some errors that google did not even know. and when I boot up it keep on trying to load up some drivers it couldn't find.
I guess it is about time to get a newer computer with windows 10 and leat it will be faster and safer then windows 7 pro 64 bit. I now a place where to get 2nd chance computers with brand new copy of windows 10 install. then I can get a new bigger SSD and clone that hard drive with windows 10 to the SSD.
I will post a link to it so you can check it out.
I think scott we both should start to like windows 10 we both hated windows 7 and we stay with windows vista for a while and we both skip windows 8 lol.... I don't think we are going to skip windows 10 soctt
I think windows 10 have got lot better over the years and also clean up after itself not more CCleaner and it seems to run faster on SSD from what I have read
Why has this forum dying off. are you working on new books scott. I don't have any new computer books to read when I am sitting on the toilet lol
you have a good day and hope to hear back from you real soon..... sucks getting old forget stuff and also getting hard to read the screen lol.
