 Post subject: landline, cable modem, disconects, when folks call my number

Location: hedon, east yorkshire, england,
i have a SpeedTouch 510 v6 ( telephone line modem )
when i am on the internet,
every time someone rings the house,it disconnects,then reconects,
when the call is over, i have a filter ( belkin ) should i have my line
checked again ?
it has been checked before, and the problem still occurs,

i have my modem and pc, on the main incoming line from the telegraph pole,
near my house with no other conections,however it does extend ( adjacently)
into another phone conection box by the side,of the main incoming box, which runs around the back of the house,
which has two phones conected to it,
it all works fine unless someone calls the home,
what is the problem please all input greatfully accepted

Make sure the modem/router is updated to the latest firmware. If that doesn't solve the problem I'd recommend replacing it with a known-good spare. If that doesn't solve the problem then it must be line related. Scott.

Check filters, Check filters are installed correctly you EITHER need a filter on each phone point in the house OR a Master filter at Master socket (first phone socket that comes into the house)

The filters MUST be installed first before other telephone equipment

Also think about a BT Broadban faceplate

thanks for your help, i have got the problem sorted,

my wife has had a emergency box and buttons installed,

a tunstall lifeline system, which she pays monthly to a

company for, this ( thing ) is the root of the problem,

renewed filters, and plugged it in on the incoming,

conection, 100% better. thanks god bless, karl.
