Hello I have got an issue with the error Limited Or No Connectivity on a HP DV5000 Laptop.http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Te ... sId=499885

The network card is a RealTek RTL8139/810X Family Fast Ethernet.

The wireless interface works, for I can access the internet fully, but when I plug into the internet NIC I get the connectivity error.

I have been all over google and tried everything I have read which I will list below.

Release/Renew config
Flush DNS
Reset WInSock
Reset TCP settings
tried some XP TCP Repair tool http://www.xp-smoker.com/freeware.html
Used the Windows Network Repair tool which failed to complete.
Deleted the Nic from Device Manager and reinstalled the driver
Scanned for Viruses which found several things.

I am sure I did a few extra things but thats the just of pretty much all of it.

If this were my computer I would have done reloaded it, for it has had Limewired installed and had several viruses/malware which I found and hopefully cleaned off with SuperAntiSpyware and Malware Bytes.

Nonetheless, this is just a last bash before I reload it, I am sick of reading the same crap over and over on Google lol.

Thanks in advanced

Reset the router also. Router works fine with other machines wireless and hardwired.

Can you connect after installing a known-good network card? If that doesn't help, then can you connect after installing a temporary drive with a clean install of Windows? This will verify whether the problem is hardware or software. Scott.

I do not have a USB NIC to try. Seems like I am going to need to get one of those, and add it to my tools.. for the last few issues that have really left me stumped were connectivity issues.

Must be a hardware issue, for a fresh load of XP on my spare drive still presented the connectivity issue. I believe I am going to advise the customer just to get a USB NIC for when they need to be hardwired, and that will also be cheaper than paying me to open this thing up.. which I reallly do not want to do.
