Been trying to understand what's wrong with a DSL Extreme connection. The connection speed is a lousy 380 kilobits. Tried connecting the DSL modem directly to the computer and bypassing the wireless router and it won't connect. Does connect with the wireless router though. I'm kinda stumped.

What modem? (please include a link to the mfr. support page) What are the reported speeds using http://Speedtest.net? What speed are you paying for? What happens when you reset the modem? Scott.

Supposed to get 1MB. The modem provided by DSL Extreme is a Comtrend CT-5072T.

If you check the modem specs on the mfr. support page you'll see that modem also includes a built-in router, which means it should be perfectly fine to connect it directly to a PC. If you don't think you are getting the connection speed you are paying for then I recommend you contact your DSL provider, as those types of problems are most likely on their end. Let me know what you find, Scott.
