Hi Scott,

I need to work on a laptop that I believe is infected with malware. If I plug that laptop into the router that my desktop PC is plugged into, is it possible for the malware to infect my desktop PC through the router?

Thanks,
Brad

As long as all of the systems and/or shares visible to the system are password protected, there *should* be no problems. However, a much more secure method would be to use two routers daisy-chained together, which (if properly configured) can completely isolate systems on the 2nd router from those on the first. With this type of setup you would want the system with malware on the "external" (first) router, and all of your other systems on the "internal" (second) router. With this type of setup the systems on the second router are completely isolated from those on the first. Scott.
