I've never had reason to activate port forwarding before, so I thought I'd check that I'm on the right lines. I have this camera and I'd like to activate remote access so I can stream the pictures. I'm using a Netgear DG834G router. Camera, router and any PCs on the network have good passwords. From what I know, I think it will be best to forward on a port which is not used by Windows or an application. Will this set up be ok from a security point of view? I should add that the camera doesn't support encryption.

As long as you use strong passwords and follow the directions supplied by the camera mfr. you should be fine. Scott.
