Dear Sir,
There is a usb internet modem used by my boss at the place of work.
The problem is that each time he plug the modem to his system for internet connection,
The usb modem adapter tcp/ip settings is always at obtain ip address statically by default which always prevent the Windows 8 system from connecting to the internet.
If we change the settings to obtain ip address automatically today and connect the usb modem app, it then begins to work. By the time we come tomorrow it would have been back to its obtain ip address statically again. Sir, I have been using usb modems before and they don't behave this way. Why is this modem behaving like that and how can the problem be resolved once and for all. Thanks.
Olakunle.

You didn't say exactly what device is involved but it seems as if it is not saving or remembering configuration changes. That could be by design or it could mean the device is defective. I would contact the device manufacturer for support. You might also try another one. Let me know what you find, Scott.
