I recently told my ISP to drop my wireless since I use my own router. After that they wouldn't allow me access their modem. So I just told them to put it back. Well now, for some reason I have multiple default gateways.
Ipconfig lists, 172.101.16.1 and 192.168.0.1

I figured it out. Just restarted a few times and it was fixed. Can't say exactly what happened. Anyway called Spectrum today to try and get the $5 monthly charged removed for "wireless service" because their router/modem has built in wi-fi. Anyway I immediately had problems connecting after they removed that service. So I wanted to get into their router. I wasn't able to for some reason. Come to find out after calling that they don't allow customers access to their router/modem if the customer doesn't have the wireless service. So after all this I just tell them to turn it back on. I want to be able access their router/modem set up so I can fix things myself if need be.
Now going into that setup and enabling "bridge" mode normally works. For some reason though you've got to restart your pc any number of times after changing certain settings, like changing it to "bridge" mode, then connecting to the router, restarting the router and restarting the pc.
I kind of miss my old dsl modem because it was just a modem and I didn't have to bother changing any configuration or anything to be able to use my own router if I wanted to. Just had to request just a plain modem instead of a router/gateway from the Dsl/phone company.
The speed of cable internet is much faster though so much better. Supposedly 200Mbps is coming to this area "in a few weeks" and I will be upgraded for free.
