Hi Scott,
I am in the market for a Gigabit switch and was wondering if you recommend one or are they all pretty much the same nowadays? I already have a netgear router if that makes any difference. All my PC's have or will have gigabit NICs.
Thanks!

There doesn't seem to be much difference between them these days. Just be sure you are looking at switches that feature gigabit on all ports, not just on uplinks. I do recommend newer designs as some of the earlier gigabit switches ran hot. These days I recommend most of the name brands including 3Com, D-Link, Linksys, NetGear, and SMC. The biggest choices are the number of ports, and whether you want them front or rear mounted: http://tinyurl.com/5zxpqoScott.

That looks like a great choice! How about posting the promo code so others might get the same deal? <g> Scott.

Thanks for posting that code and the link. $80 for the PCP&C Silencer 610 is an excellent deal, a total of $35 off combining the $10 promo code and a $25 rebate. Hopefully anybody seeing this who needs a high quality PSU will click on that link and take advantage of that deal... Scott.

Definitely a good deal, I got the 750 Silencer through a similar deal for $99 after promo code and rebate although I'm pretty sure that code has expired.
