Hey Scott I just heard about Open DNS on one of the radio shows you posted. I am trying it out now. Do you recommend installing the software for it?. They say it isn't needed, but then they recommend it after you sign up for a free account.

It might be a good way to help lock down a naive or irresponsible user, but I don't have a need for it personally. Scott.

They told me that my settings would be periodically lost if I don't install the OpenDNS Dynamic IP Updater client?.

The updater client is designed to keep your OpenDNS account apprised of any IP address changes for your network. It is only required if you are using OpenDNS, have an account with custom settings, and your network is assigned a dynamic IP address by your internet provider: http://www.opendns.com/support/article/187

If you have more questions about OpenDNS I recommend the OpenDNS forums: http://forums.opendns.com

Scott.

Thanks Scott. I asked about it their forums. Really they don't seem to be very helpful over there. I don't get the detailed help and support that I get from you. This forum is the best computer support forum there is, in my opinion. I just don't really trust anyone elese for support. I only go to others when I have to for warrenty support.
