So I gave up on firefox. Too many problems with it. Chrome hogs resources and seems to have a lot of issues. I'm trying out Opera right now and it seems use a bit less ram than Chrome, but still seems like a lot to me. However so far I like it better than Chrome. Microsoft Edge still seems to be the fastest and lightest on resources but no support on any machine that doesn't run Windows 10. Opera does seem to be much faster than Chrome also. At least by my perception.
Article, Opera is definitely faster and uses less resources.I mean I could load up every PC I use with all the ram it could handle, but for some reason ram prices have more than doubled since last year. That's besides the point though. Just because people have more powerful pcs these days shouldn't be an excuse for programmers to write programs that use more resources than necessary. Scott, if they use that for an excuse as if to "take advantage today's more powerful pcs" than essentially we never "catch up" with ourselves and always have to push the envelope and pay for as much ram and as powerful a processor as we can afford.
The whole point of an OS is to run applications but there has to be some sort of "in-between" between taking advantage of more powerful hardware and using less resources making most pcs more efficient.
